The Best Outdoor Dining Spots in El Paso

Welcome to El Paso, a city rich in history, culture, and delicious food. Whether you’ve visited before or are looking to go somewhere new, now is the perfect time to book a room at The Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park. Enjoy the city as new restaurants, attractions, and experiences pop up every day in the heart of West Texas.

One of the best ways to experience El Paso is through its vibrant outdoor dining scene—ideal for dining al fresco year-round. From upscale restaurants with intimate patios to casual cafes with bustling terraces, there’s something for everyone in this vibrant city. Here are a few of our favorite places to get a tasty bite while taking in the scenery.

Anson 11

One of our favorite spots is Anson 11, located just across the street from The Plaza. They offer two dining experiences in one, with the casual Bistro on the first floor and a more refined fine dining option on the second floor. This upscale restaurant offers an extensive menu of steaks, seafood, and Italian-inspired dishes, all served in a chic and contemporary atmosphere. But what really sets Anson 11 apart is its beautiful outdoor patio, complete with cozy fire pits, twinkling lights, and views of San Jacinto Plaza. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a romantic dinner or a lovely cocktail hour with friends.

Park Tavern

If you’re with a group with a range of culinary preferences, then Park Tavern is the spot for you, as it has something for everyone. This restaurant and bar is a local favorite, serving up delicious American comfort food with a modern twist like the Garlic Shrimp Linguini, Duck Tostones, and a classic French Dip Sandwich. The outdoor seating area is spacious and perfect for enjoying a meal with friends or a craft cocktail filled with local flavors.

La Perla

A stay at The Plaza isn’t complete without a visit to La Perla, our contemporary rooftop bar. As the highest outdoor terrace in all of El Paso, there’s no better spot in the city to take in the views of two countries and three states. Once the home of starlet Elizabeth Taylor, this stylish rooftop tells of its storied past through its classic, yet modern design elements.

As you relax under the Texas sun, sip on craft cocktails like the Raintree Bramble and the Crimson Queen for a refreshing toast, or order thoughtfully-crafted plates by Chef Acosta for an impressive culinary experience. La Perla also has live music performances every Friday and Saturday night for the perfect date night or casual evening dinner.

Taconeta

Craving tacos? Look no further than Taconeta, a vibrant and colorful taqueria located just a short drive from The Plaza. This restaurant is known for its inventive takes on classic Mexican street food, like its Baja Fish Taco or a healthier Milpa Bowl. And if you’re looking to dine al fresco, you’re in luck—Taconeta has a cozy outdoor patio that’s perfect for enjoying your tacos with a side of fresh air.

Church Bar

For a fun outdoor dining experience, check out Church Bar. This trendy spot has a spacious patio with plenty of seating and a chill, laid-back vibe. The menu is full of delicious comfort food like burgers and fries, as well as a wide selection of craft beers. It’s the perfect spot to relax and have fun after a long day of exploring Downtown El Paso.

The Reagan

If you’re looking for a dining experience with a little personality, then The Reagan certainly needs to be on your list. This Gastropub in Downtown El Paso has it all, from craft cocktails infused with local flavor to unique interiors and live music.

Hush Hush

It wouldn’t be a trip to El Paso if you didn’t have at least one life-changing margarita, and Hush Hush is just the spot for that. Stick to a classic, like their Pancho Villa house margarita, or try something new like The Mexican Sunset, an Aperol coconut margarita. This trendy, bohemian bar is loved by locals and tourists alike. Soak in the vibes, enjoy the music, and indulge in a bit of tequila for the ultimate vacation experience.

Café Central

Last but not least, we recommend Café Central. This elegant restaurant features sophisticated dishes and a covered patio is the perfect place to settle in with a glass of wine as you unwind for the day. The menu is inspired by European cuisine and offers dishes like Baked Escargot, Beef Tenderloin Carpaccio, and a Signature Tres Leches Cake.

El Paso’s outdoor dining opportunities are endless and we’re confident you’ll have a fantastic time at any of them during your stay at The Plaza. Whether you’re craving an upscale dining experience or something more laid-back, this vibrant and historic city has something for every palate. Grab a seat at one of these amazing outdoor patios and soak up the sunshine while savoring some of the best food and drinks in town.
